Justice Seen, Justice Done - The Winning Projects
Back in April the public were asked to vote on which projects they would like to see offenders complete as part of their Community Payback. The results have been announced and here is what won in your area:
Sheffield - Chancet Wood Respite Home
A woodland walk and sensory garden will be built for children and visitors at the home to enjoy. Work on the garden has already begun and it is hoped that the project will be completed later this summer.
Doncaster - Askern Lake

The boat house will be renovated and a concrete ramp installed so that there is easier access getting the boats into the water. Work on the boat house has begun and preparations for the ramp will start next week. Offenders will also be removing hedges, making life jacket racks and producing metal boat racks.
Barnsley - Rockingham Gardens

The gardens will be landscaped, seating refurbished and paved areas laid. Birdwell Residents Action Group have provided £1000 of their own funds to assist with the renovation. Birdwell primary school environmental group have also been consulted on the design of the garden and what they would like to see in it.
Rotherham - Multiple Sclerosis Centre
The grounds will be developed and maintained for visitors of the centre to enjoy. Work at the centre has already begun with the grounds being tidied up and the grass being cut. The grounds will continue to be maintained throughout the year.
