Single Equality Scheme
Following a period of consultation with community groups and staff I am delighted to present to you our Single Equality Scheme, a first for South Yorkshire Probation.
As you will see we have developed generic and strand specific action plans for this financial year in order to see some immediate and demonstrable changes and will develop plans for 2009-10 and beyond early next year.
With the advent of the Equality Act 2006 many organisations are starting to see the benefits of moving to a single scheme. We have positioned ourselves ahead of the game and are aiming not just for compliance but for exemplar employer status by role modeling best practice.
We want to make this a living document within the organisation and wider community so whilst the official period of consultation has ended I would be delighted to hear any comments or feedback from the people and communities of South Yorkshire on this or any other aspect of our work on diversity and inclusion as we move forward.
