Equality Impact Assessments
Equality Impact Assessments are a requirement of recent equality legislation. They require policy makers within organisations to analyse the impact of their policies, procedures and practices upon different communities. There is also a requirement to involve community groups in the assessment process and to remove any discriminatory/illegal barriers to equitable outcomes for different communities.
The impact assessment process is broken down into two distinct stages, firstly a screening and then should the screening identify the potential for differential impact then you progress onto the full impact assessment.
For ease the form is accompanied by a separate document giving guidance on the completion of the form.
