Judge for Yourself was designed to give people insight into the work of the probation service and puts users in the role of a probation officer - interviewing offenders, assessing information, and making sentence recommendations to the court. The four case studies are all based on real-life examples and come complete with advice from the real probation officers who worked on the cases. They include updates on the real sentence passed, and the real outcomes achieved.
Judge for Yourself started as an interactive CD-ROM and copies of this are available (free) from the PR & Communications Unit of South Yorkshire Probation Area.
